There are so many rumors when it comes to Instagram. But, what’s true and what’s fake? Let’s dive in.
Myth 1: Shadowbanning
One of the most talked about rumors is that Instagram is shadowbanning business profiles. According to this rumor, your posts could be blacked from the feed for using the same hashtags too many times or for liking too many posts, but this is not true! There is no such thing as shadowbanning.
Myth 2: Switching to a Business Account Will Hurt Your Page
Another myth in the IG community is that if you switch your account to a business account, that it will hurt your page and negatively impact your engagement. But, this is also false! There are actually so many benefits that come with having a business account, like better analytics, swipe up links, auto-publishing and so much more!
Myth 3: You HAVE to Post Every Day if You Want to Survive
Of course, consistency plays a key factor in engagement, but let's make one thing clear, that does not mean every day. Engagement is all about quality. If you have good, relevant posts 3 times a week, you are more likely to be successful than if you're posting every day with random content.
Myth 4: Instagram Only Shows Your Posts to 7% of Your Audience
You guessed it… this is just a myth as well! What is actually the case is, what shows up first in your feed is determined by what posts and accounts you engage with the most! Instagram never hides posts from anyone you are following, and if you keep scrolling down your feed, you will see those posts! The feed is simply just more personalized to each user now.
